The court has recognized the evidence collected by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for North Caucasian federal district as sufficient to convict Alikhan Ortskhanov. He is found guilty of crimes under part 2 of article 210, part 2 of article 209, article 317, part 3 of article 222 of the RF Criminal Code (creation of a criminal community, banditry, illegal acquisition and store of firearms, encroachment on the life of an officer of a law-enforcement agency).

The preliminary investigation was carried out with the assistance of the field officers of FSB department in Ingush Republic and Interior Ministry in Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.

The investigators established that Ortskhanov in January 2010 voluntarily joined a criminal community “Vilayat Galgayche” and its structural subdivision – a stable armed organized group, members of which are involved in 9 September 2010 terrorist attack on the central market of Vladikavkaz.

Ortskhanov together with other members is involved in grave and especially grave crimes in Ingushetia and North Ossetia-Alania, namely in encroachment on the life of an officer of a law-enforcement agency and illegal acquisition and store of firearms.

The court has sentenced Ortskhanov to 14 years in a maximum security correctional facility and 150 thousand rubles damage.
