In Krasnodar territory Sergei Tsepovyaz convicted for hiding slaying of 12 people in Kushchevskaya village

The court has recognized the evidence collected by the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee in the North Caucasus federal district as sufficient to convict Sergei Tsepovyaz. He is found guilty of crime under article 316 of the RF Criminal Code (concealment of crime).

According to the investigation, on 8 November 2010, Tsepovyaz, being the deputy director of OOO Arteks-Agro (LC) in order to cover up slaying of 12 people in Kushchevskaya village in the Krasnodar territory burned documents confirming the purchase by the gang member Sergei Karpenko fuel at gas station that was used to burn down the Ametovs’ house and to conceal the traces of especially grave crimes of the gang.

Examining the area on the suburbs of the Kushchevskaya village the investigators found paper fragments with the traces of burning. The fragments were sent for forensic examination which confirmed that the burned documents had been resource limit cards and a fuel selling journal of exactly the gas station of Arteks-Agro company. An examination was made that confirmed identity of the fuel use for arson in Ametovs’ house and that in the tanks of the said gas station.

During the investigation Tsepovyaz fully admitted his guilt and filed a motion to consider the case in special order – without trial.

The court sentenced Tsepovyaz to 150 thousand rubles of fine.

It should be noted that a fine in the amount up to 200 thousand rubles, or in the amount of the wage or salary, or any other income of the convicted person for a period up to 18 months, or by arrest for a term of three to six months, or by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to two years. Besides, imprisonment can be imposed on an accused who committed a mild crime for the first time and only with aggravating circumstances provided for in the RF Criminal Code.
