Charges are brought against one more participant of 6 May mass riots on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow


The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee has charged the participants of mass riots on Bolotnaya Ploshchad Maksim Luzyanin of crime under part 1 of article 318 (use of violence that does not endanger human life or health against a representative of the authority) and part 2 of article 212 of the Russian Criminal Code (participation in mass riots). Earlier today the same charges were brought against Andrey Barabanov.

According to investigators, both accused, on 6 May, during public events on Bolotnaya Ploshchad broke through the police cordon, beat the policemen with hands and feet, used against law-enforcement official providing public order submission holds.

During the interrogation, Luzyanin fully admitted his guilt. Barabanov admitted his guilt only in part, namely the use of violence against a representative of the authority (part 1 of article 318 of the RCC).

At present investigators of SK and field officers of the Main Directorate of the Interior Ministry continue identifying other participants of the mass riots. The investigation is to be continued.
