In Volgograd region school head suspected of bribe-taking for Unified State Exam successful passing

The Volgograd region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case based on materials of the regional Prosecutor’s Office check and Main Directorate of the RF Interior Ministry, against the head of Oktyabrsky School No 2 Svetlana Konovalova. She is suspected of crime under part 3 of article 290 of the RF Criminal Code (bribe-taking by a functionary for unlawful deeds).

According to investigators the suspect on 7 June 2012 received from the parents of a high school student a bribe of 3 thousand rubles for assistance in taking the Unified State Examination in mathematics by this boy.

At present, investigation and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The incident scene was searched and the unlawfully got money was withdrawn from the suspect. Parents of other students were questioned. The investigators found that 10 thousand rubles was given to the school head by father of another student for his successful passing the Unified State Examination in Russian language and mathematics. During the interrogation the suspect fully admitted her guilt. The question of restraint is being negotiated. The investigators do not rule out that there can be more facts of illegal actions by the school head. The investigation is to be continued.
