Another criminal case initiated against Vice-Mayor of Yekaterinburg Viktor Kanteev

The Urals Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee within framework of the criminal case against the Vice-Mayor of Yekaterinburg Viktor Konteev, more episodes of his criminal activity have been discovered. Therefore a criminal case has been initiated on the signs of crimes under paragraphs “a”, “b” of part 3 of article 163 (extortion of rights to property) and part 3 of article 174¹ of the RF Criminal Code (the legalization of property).

According to investigators, in the period from January 2010 to September 2011, Viktor Kanteev in the territory of Yekaterinburg together with his wife Larisa Kanteeva and other individuals of his circle demanded from CEO of OOO “Prodovolstvennaya baza No 4” (LC) Tatyana Rusina to transfer rights for her and her daughter’s shares of authorized capital of OOO “Prodovolstvennaya baza No 4” with market value more than 150 million rubles. Later this property was legalized by deals with shares and property of the enterprise, many real estate objects in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region. As a result of the said criminal actions the owners of all property earlier owned by OOO “Prodovolstvennaya baza No 4” became Larisa Kanteeva and her close relatives.

At present, investigation operations are under way to detain persons involved in these crimes and to bring charges against them. The question of preventive punishment is being negotiated. Searches are made in flats and offices of all the suspects. The investigation is to be continued.
