Siberian Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has finished investigation of criminal case against fitness and sports chief expert of the Novosibirsk region Administration Alexander Naumovich Solodkin, Novosibirsk Deputy Mayor Alexander Alexandrovich Solodkin, Deputy Head of the Novosibirsk region Department of Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Andrey Andreev, accused of membership in a criminal organization led by a local resident Alexander Trunov.
According to investigators, father and son Solodkins, having joined the criminal organization, looked for and provided control over economic facilities which were financing sources for the organization, they also established in the interests of the organizations contacts with officials of government and local authorities, and law enforcement bodies of the Novosibirsk region. Andreev, according to the fires of the case, provided the support for the organization using the possibilities available by his official position.
Solodkin-senior is also charged with participation in an attempted murder of an entrepreneur, swindling, and embezzlement of budget funds of more than 1 million rubles, allocated for sports competitions by the Department for Fitness and Sports of the Novosibirsk region Administration, which the accused had been in charge of for several years.
His son - Novosibirsk Deputy Mayor – is also charged with organization of arson of another’s property and infliction of grave injury, resistance to preliminary investigation procedures, bribery-giving.
The Solodkins are also charged with extortion with the usurpation of a public catering facility in downtown Novosibirsk.
According to investigators, Andreev, being a Deputy Head of the Novosibirsk region Department of Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation, supplied the members of the organization with information got by his professional activity, including about the persons capable of resistance to the criminal organization. For his help, Andreev got from the members of the organization as a bribe a prestigious import off-road vehicle for considerably lower price.
Officers of the Siberia Federal District Main Directorate of Internal Affairs Ministry, the Novosibirsk region Directorate of FSB and the Novosibirsk region Department of Inner Security of Federal Drug Control Service provided filed support to the investigation.
Investigators have collected enough evidence therefore the case with the approved bill of particulars is forwarded to the court to be tried on the merits. The case against Alexander Trunov is already being tried in the court.
