Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee within the Framework of the criminal case over mass riots and use of violence against representatives of the authority on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow on 6 May have already questioned 1,253 people, 54 people are recognized the victims.
Necessity of all investigating operations carried out this week was connected with, first of all, the operational information of investigators that organizers of the rally and leaders of opposition could be involved in organization of mass riots. Secondly, investigators were to check the information obtained after detention and interrogation of active participants of the mass riots, who are 13 people already. At the moment, all the tremendous amount of information, objects, documents and materials seized during the searches on 11 June, is being carefully checked and analyzed by the investigators. It is possible that some of the involved in the case might change their procedural status and turn from witnesses to the suspects.
Investigation is active now, interrogations and arrests are continued. It should be noted that interrogations, searches and other investigation operations in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation can be carried out not only with the suspects, but with the witnesses and even victims as well.
As for the big sum of money seized from Ksenia Sobchak and her statements in the Internet that part of the money she got as a present and part – as a loan, then, if she officially gives such testimony to the investigators, they will naturally check the statement. Seizing during a search big sums of money, the investigators had a lot of questions as of its origin. We remind, that the money seized was in different currencies, namely more than 1 million euros, more than 480 thousand US dollars and more than 480 thousand of rubles in 121 envelopes which triggered certain questions of the investigators and can indicate its so to speak non-bank origin. Therefore, within the framework of the tax check arranged by investigators for the money seized from Sobchak, all the firms registered in her, income declaration and bank accounts will be checked.
As for the comments by Ilya Yashin on the allegedly unlawful break-in into his flat by Investigative Committee officials, it should be explained that the search was carried out in line with the order of the investigator in the presence of witnesses and owner of the flat. The court has recognized the search lawful and reasoned. Moreover, Yashin did not filed any such application to the Investigative Committee.
During the search of Sergey Udaltsov investigators seized lists of individuals, who are now being checked in operation and investigation on the involvement in the mass riots on Bolotnaya Ploshchad.
