Criminal case launched in Moscow against deputy head of state building supervision department of Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision

Central Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against deputy head of state building supervision department of Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision Alexander Gazhu. He is suspected of crime under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Criminal Code (bribe-taking).

According to investigators, in the period from April 2012 to 16 June 2012, in Moscow Gazhu received from director of one of self-regulating organizations 1 million 100 thousand rubles for concealing the violations of legal requirements found during an inspection and further general patronage of its activity. Gazhu was detained at the moment when he was receiving the last part of the bribe of 600 thousand rubles. On the request of investigator he was taken into custody.

At present collection of additional evidence is under way. The investigation is to be continued.
