Progress of investigation of criminal case over mass riots and use of violence against representatives of the authority on 6 May on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow


Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee continues investigation of a crimincal case over mass riots on 6 May on Bolotnaya Ploshchad. Within the framework of the investigation Maksim Luzyanin, Andrei Barabanov, Stepan Zimin, Denis Lutskevich, Alexandra Dukhanina, Yaroslav Belousov, Artyom Savelov and Mikhail Kosenko are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 212 and part 1 of article 318 of the RF Criminal Code (participation in mass riots and use of violence against representatives of the authority). Oleg Arkhipenkov, Richard Sobolev, Vladimir Akimenkov and Feodor Bakhov are charged with a crime under part 2 of article 212 of the RF Criminal Code (participation in mass riots), and Maria Baronova – with a crime under part 3 of article 212 (calls to mass riots).

1,290 person have already been questioned as witnesses, 54 policemen and militants of the Internal troops of the Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have been recognized victims, the examination of objects and documents seized during the searches is continued, 37 forensic examinations have been set up.

Currently investigators are actively carrying out operations to find the role of Aleksey Navalny, Sergey Udaltsov, Ilya Yashin, Ilya Ponomaryov, Maria Baronova and Boris Nemtsov in organizing mass riots and calls to it, as well as sources of funding the said events.

In spite of every-day pressure by different statements in media and unceasing attempts to discredit by interested parties, investigators are going to find and prosecute all organizers and participants of mass riots and persons who used violence against representatives of the authority during “March of Millions” on 6 May on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow.
