Pre-investigation check started in Irkutsk region into oil product tanks blaze

On 3 July 2012 in the town of Angarsk in the industrial area of OAO Deltakom (OJSC) underground tanks with oil products of 500 cubic meters caught fire. The Irkutsk region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee started a pre-investigation check into the fact.

According to preliminary information during extinguishing one of the tanks the nearest one caught fire as well. At present two of the enterprise’s workers are missing. One of the workers got extensive burns and was hospitalized. The fire is being contained.

Investigators are going to establish all circumstances of the incident, including the reason of ignition and observance of fire safety rules. Investigators have already ordered supervising state bodies to carry out an inspection at the enterprise in order to find out legality of its operation. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
