Progress of investigation of criminal case over mass deaths of people caused by natural disaster in Krasnodar Territory
The investigation group of the Southern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues the investigation of a criminal case initiated on 8 July 2012 over deaths of people caused by floods in the Krymsk district of the Krasnodar Territory on the signs of a crime under part 3 of article 109 of the RF Criminal Code (infliction of death by negligence on two or more people).
At the moment, investigators have information about 149 dead people in Krymsk district, including 4 children. % people are still unidentified. According to the results of forensic medical examinations all people drowned.
At present the investigation group is expecting the arrival of Saint-Petersburg specialists in the area of hydrometeorological studies. They are planning to undertake a hydrometeorological expertise to establish weather conditions at night of 7 July, water flow and mechanisms of the disaster development. Necessary investigating operations are under way to find all circumstances of the incident. Investigation of the criminal case is to be continued.
