Moscow investigating bodies of Russia’s Investigative Committee have opened a criminal case against Head of Staff Department of Main information-analytical center of Interior Ministry of Russia Colonel of Internal Service Igor Novikov. He is suspected of a crime under part 3 of article 30, part 4 of article 291 of the RF Criminal Code (attempted bribery of a functionary).
According to investigators, on 10 July this year Novikov handed over as a bribe 500 thousand rubles for stopping a check of a commercial organization to the officials of Moscow Region Interior Ministry Department who were acting within the framework of operations experiment and who detained the suspect for attempt bribe-giving to a functionary.
At present investigation operations are under way to establish all circumstances of the incident. Investigation is to be continued.
