Fifth suspect of crimes against religious leaders of Tatarstan Republic apprehended

Tatarstan Republic investigating bodies of Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over crimes against religious leaders of Tatarstan Republic (paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 205 (terrorist attack, entailing considerable damage to property), part 1 of article 105 (murder), part 3 of article 30, paragraph “f” of part 2 of article 105 of RF Criminal Code (attempted murder).

Today on the motion of an investigator the court selected a pre-trial restraining measure of detention in custody against Chairman of board of directors of the company Idel-Khadzh, 57. On 21 July the court ruled to extend the term of arrest of the suspect to 72 hours, that is to 23 July, pointing out the necessity of more evidence of reasons for restraining.

At present, 39-year-old leader of parish Vakf, a 41-year-old resident of Vysokogorsky district of the Republic, 26-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan and a 36-year old resident of Kazan, apprehended the day before are taken into custody.

Investigation is to be continued.
