The former deputy governor of the Moscow office of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation will go on trial

Investigation Department of the Central Federal District completed a criminal investigation against the former deputy governor of the Moscow office of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation - Chief of the Main Office of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation number 1 in Moscow and the Moscow region Arthur Madatov, who is accused of committing two crimes under part 4 of the article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in the period of 2004-2006 Madatov entered into a preliminary conspiracy with the director of LLC "GrantelementStroy" Vladimir Popov to steal the funds of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation allocated for the construction and repair work in the building of the orphanage for the elderly and the disabled in Solnechnogorsk. As a result of the criminal activity of Madatov and Popov more than 15 million rubles were stolen.

Madatov was the initiator of the commission of crimes, planned the implementation of illegal acts, provided the decision-making on allocation of funds for the subsequent theft, personally signed the fraudulent certificates of inspection, misled other officers, and also received the bulk of amount.

At present, the investigators have collected sufficient evidence presented for which cause a criminal case with the approved indictment was sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

Popov, who signed pre-trial cooperation agreement, was found guilty by a court verdict of February 2011 and was sentenced to 5.5 years imprisonment with a fine of 500 thousand rubles.
