The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia held a reception of citizens in Sochi. The citizens of the Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk territories, the Chelyabinsk and Moscow regions were received at the reception, which lasted from 11 a.m. August 9 to 9 a.m. August 10. Alexander Bastrykin personally met with 70 people. Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee Boris Karnaukhov and several heads of the investigation department of the Investigative Committee in the North Caucasus Federal District and the Krasnodar Territory also participated in the event.

Finding that not everyone who arrived at the reception was able to pre-register, Alexander Bastrykin decided to listen to all citizens. Most of the complaints received during the personal reception, concerned the decisions taken by the officers of the Interior and the Prosecutor's Office, issues on land law and judicial decisions in civil and criminal cases.

In most cases, on appeal, A. Bastrykin invited heads of investigation departments to ascertain the circumstances of the case. However, a number of citizens applied to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia to express their gratitude for the measures of response taken after the previous reception, and the corrective actions on previously submitted applications.
