Preventive measure was changed for two defendants in a criminal case of the mass riots in the Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is continuing a criminal investigation on the facts of mass riots and violence against the public officers at the Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow on May 6 2012.

An electrician of OJSC Moscow Urban telephone network Rikhard Sobolev and the commercial director of LLC "Adria" Oleg Arkhipenkov were detained within proceedings on this case in June 2012. They were both charged with an offense under Part 2 of Art.212 of the RF Criminal Code (participation in the mass riots). To date, in accordance with the decision of the court the defendants were in custody.

Given that basic investigation operations have already been held with the accused persons and taking into account that they have a permanent residence in Moscow, the investigators have taken a decision to change preventive measure for R. Sobolev and O. Arhipenkov to release on recognizance not to leave after the period of detention terminates.
