Criminal investigation against one of the former prosecutors of the Moscow region, accused of receiving bribes for protection of gambling, is completed

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation completed a criminal investigation against Roman Nischemenko - the former prosecutor of Odintsovo of the Moscow region. He is accused of committing an offense under paragraph "d" of Part 4 of Art.290 of the RF Criminal Code (taking bribes).

According to investigators, Nischemenko received bribes in the form of money and property benefits for the overall protection of the gambling activities of Ivan Nazarov and the persons he represented in Odintsovo amounting to more than 4 million rubles.

The investigators collected sufficient evidence for which reason a criminal case has been sent to the Prosecutor General's Office for approval of the indictment and subsequent transfer to the court for consideration on the merits.
