One more criminal case over especially large-scale bribing opened against Kamchatka Territory Sport and Tourism Minister accused in swindling

Kamchatka Territory investigating bodies of Russia’s Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case against Kamchatka Territory Sport and Tourism Minister Viktor Kravchenko accused of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code (swindling committed by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy and on especially large scale). During the investigation, another criminal case has been opened against the accused. He is suspected of a crime under part 6 of article 290 of the Russian Criminal Code (bribe-taking on especially large scale).

According to investigators, in December 2011 Kravchenko, knowing for sure about violation by a commercial company of the conditions of government contract on delivery of downhill skiing gear, received from a co-founder of the said company a bribe of 2 million rubles for not taking a number of measures which were part of his professional duty, that is not fining the company for violation of delivery time.

At present a number of investigation operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the crime. Investigation is to be continued.
