Criminal cases against two participants of mass riots on Bolotnaya Ploshchad severed into separate suits

Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over mass riots and violence against representatives of the authority on 6 May on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow.

Maxim Luzyanin and Mikhail Kosenko are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 212 (participation in mass riots) and part 1 of article 318 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (use of violence against representatives of the authority). The criminal cases against them have been severed into separate lawsuits to speed up preliminary investigation. Luzyanin has already been informed that investigation operations are over and in the near future will start reading the files of the case. The criminal case against Kosenko is also at the final stage of preliminary investigation.
