Professor of University in Kazan charged with double murder

Tatarstan Republic investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged Igor Danilevsky, 38, of a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code (murder of two or more persons).

According to investigators, on 29 August 2012 bodies of a 76-year-old woman and her 38-year-old daughter were found in a flat in Kazan. The women died of many stabbed wounds. There were words “Free Pussy Riot” rote on the wall, presumably with their blood.

The court at the request of the investigators ruled to put Danilevsky into custody. At present investigating actions are under way to collect and consolidate evidence. Investigation is to be continued.
