On 11 September 2012 Chairman of the Investigative Committee conducted a personal reception of citizens in Moscow. During a reception which lasted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mr Bastrykin received 40 people. Citizens from Moscow, Moscow Region, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territories, Buryat Republic, Bashkortostan, North Ossetia (Alania), Samara, Arkhangelsk, Kursk, Astrakhan, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Murmansk, Saratov and Yaroslavl Regions came to the reception.

The most of complaints related to procedural decisions over criminal cases in proceedings of investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee. The citizens also complained about decisions of other law enforcement bodies and courts.

Following the reception Alexander Bastrykin gave explicit instructions to the heads of a number of territorial investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee. Consideration of all complaints and appeals received is taken under personal control of the Chairman.
