Investigation of criminal case against former Penza Region Minister of Agriculture completed

Penza Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have completed investigating a criminal case against former Chairmen of Penza Region Government and Minister of Agriculture. He is charged with 2 episodes of a crime under paragraph “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Criminal Code (large-scale bribery-taking).

According to investigators, on 20 March 2012 the accused being in his car on the road Nizhny Novgorod-Saratov near the village of Kilyshleyki of Penzinsky district received from a director of a firm a bribe of 200 thousand rubles for general patronage and illegal actions in the interests of the commercial structure in solving issues relating to business activity including during conclusion and implementation of agreements on joint activity in production of vegetable. At the moment of receiving a bribe the accused was detained by agents of regional directorates of Federal Security Service and Investigative Committee. During the investigation the fact that the accused received in 2011 one more bribe of 400 thousand rubles from the director of the above mentioned firm for the same services in the interests of the firm was revealed and proved.

Investigators have collected enough evidence and accordingly the case with the approved indictment is forwarded to the court to be tried on the merits.
