The Sverdlovsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have charged blogger from Yekaterinburg Vasily Fedorovich, 26, with crimes under paragraphs “a, d” of part 2 of article 161 (robbery, committed by a group of persons under a preliminary conspiracy with use of violence not dangerous for life or health), paragraphs “a”, “g”, “j” of part 2 of article 105 (murder of two or more persons committed by a group of people under a preliminary conspiracy with the purpose to cover another crime), paragraphs “a” and “d” of part 2 of article 126 (abduction of person committed by a group of persons under a preliminary conspiracy with the use of weapons or objects used as weapons), paragraphs “g” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 (murder committed by a group of people with the purpose to cover another crime) and paragraph “g” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder committed by a group of persons under a preliminary conspiracy).
According to investigators, on 6 March 2012, Fedorovich and four of his accomplices agreed to meet in the airport Koltsovo and rob a USA citizen, who was going to arrive in Russia. After the victim had called to say that he had arrived to Koltsovo, two of the accomplices came to the airport and took the man in a rented car to a dump near the motor road Koltsovo – Aramil, where Fedorovich and two other accomplices were waiting. After they placed the victim into another car, Fedorovich and three of his accomplices stole from him a laptop computer, credit cards and external hard disks worth more than 100 thousand rubles. Then Fedorovich and two of his accomplices decided to kill the victim in order to cover up the robbery. On 7 March 2012, the culprits stabbed the victim and hit him with a sledgehammer several times at a garage block on Kommunisticheskaya Street in Yekaterinburg. The man died on the spot. To conceal the crime they piled the body up with tires, poured over some petrol and burned it up. Before burning the body, one of the accomplices had searched the man’s pockets and had found a credit card in the victim’s name from which by different cash dispensers they stole about 100 thousand rubles.
In addition, in the period before April 2012 Fedorovich with other three men decided by false pretense to steal money from an acquaintance of Fedorovich and kill him. This April Fedorovich under a false pretext lured the victim in his car, took him to a parking lot on Azina Street in Yekaterinburg, where Fedorovich’s accomplice wearing police uniforms and a gun, and their two associates took the victim to a stall of garages in Yekaterinburg, where they held him to get the information about his place of residence, places where he kept his money and other valuables. Fedorovich and his three accomplices searched the victim’s pockets and found some money which they took away. After that they took the victim to a forest near 27th km of a motorway “Yekaterinburg - Serov”, where one of the culprits shot him in the head to conceal the robbery. Then Fedorovich and another of his accomplices stabbed the man in his neck and legs. Another accomplice poured on the body some petrol from a preliminarily prepared metallic canister and set it afire.
In addition, according to present-time information, on 12 April 2012 about 9 p.m. near one of the houses on Titova Street in Yekaterinburg Fedorovich acting together with three more people, using a knuckle-duster, a knife and a gun, and handcuffs abducted a 17-year-old local to get back from him a lap-top computer gone from one of Fedorovich’s acquaintances. Having taken him to a forest in a micro-district of Krasnolesie, culprits, threatening to health and lives of his and his family, forced out of the victim information about a person involved in a loss of the computer, and released him after that.
Investigating bodies have also established that at night of 17 May 2012, near a house on Bilimbayevskaya Street in Yekaterinburg Fedorovich and two of his accomplices because of sudden hostility towards a local person stabbed him in neck and body. The man died on the spot.
At present investigators of the Investigative Committee with the support of police operatives of Crime Detection Department continue taking measures to find out circumstances of the crimes, detain of all the accomplices and establish whether the said individuals were involved in other crimes.
As of today three of the accomplices are under arrest, two more (considering their roles in the crimes) are under a written undertaking not to live the place and behave properly. Four of the accomplices to the above mentioned crimes are wanted.
Investigators are checking information about possible involvement of two of the criminal group into a murder of three men – members of one family – committed between July and October 2009 in Yekaterinburg. According to preliminary data the motive was mercenary. Investigation is to be continued.
