Ruslan Murtazin, former active member of organized criminal group Vosmyorochnye detained within the framework of Gus-Khrustalny decriminalization operations

At night of 25 September 2012, within the framework of joint activity to decriminalize the situation in Gus-Khrustalny district, forces of the Russia’s Investigative Committee, field services of directorates of Federal Security Service and Ministry of Internal Affairs for Vladimir and Voronezh regions, the former active member of the organized criminal group Vosmyorochnye Ruslan Murtazin, 39, was detained in Voronezh. He was internationally wanted since December 2010.

Investigators have established that Ruslan Murtazin was a member of the organized criminal group Vosmyorochnye set up in early 90s by his brother Andrey Murtazin. During 17 years Murtazins brothers, who had certain reputation in criminal circles, jointly with other organized criminal groups committed offences against persons and property of citizens. Mainly, businessmen of Gus-Khrustalny district suffered from the actions of the group.

At present, at investigators’ petition the court ruled to put the detainee into custody. Investigation of a case against Ruslan Murtazin, in the framework of which he in absentia was charged with several crimes, is resumed. Procedural and investigating operations are underway.
