The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District-Yugra investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have detained Technical Director of Invest-Oil within the framework of the investigation of a criminal case over violation of safety rules at an explosive facility which entail death of 8 people (part 2 of article 217 of the RF Criminal Code).

It is now under discussion whether to put him into custody.

Investigators have forwarded to the court a petition asking too put into custody CEO of Invest-Oil who was held the day before on suspicions of the said crime.

We remind that, the fire occurred on 29 September 2012, at 11:50 a.m. at the oil slam processing floor of OOO Invest-Oil. The fire killed 8 people, 9 were injured.

Yesterday night one of the injured died of the burns received in the fire in the District Clinical Hospital in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Investigators have assigned a number of forensic examinations, witnesses and persons responsible for fire safety at the enterprise are being interrogated to establish the causes of the fire.

Investigators continue to look for the persons involved in the crime. Investigation is to be continued.
