RIA Novosti: RF SK Head Bastrykin receives gratitude from citizens

The Head of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin received gratitude from citizens thanking for the work of investigators, said Thursday official spokesman to the Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin.

Namely, in her letter a citizen of Belgorod Region notes the work of regional investigations directorate during investigation of a case over a mass scuffle in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka which took place in 2010 and involved more than 30 people.

As part of inquiry into this conflict which killed a person, investigators interrogated more than 50 witnesses, carried out 15 on-site checks of testimonies involving the eye witnesses who had participated in the conflict, 15 identifications and a number of forensic expert examinations.

After a long investigation the court sentenced Igor Potokin to 6 years in the minimum-security correctional facility.

“The victim’s mother thanks D. Voronin, Chief of the Especially Important Cases Department of the Belgorod Region Investigations Directorate and an investigator Y. Shevyakov “for honest scrupulous work”, - said Markin.

He noted, that a woman from the Voronezh Region in her turn thanked investigators for solving a case over rape of her underage daughter.

In addition, a woman called from Krasnodar to thank the officers of the Krasnodar Territory Investigations Directorate who had taken steps to prosecute police officers who had abused and exceeded their official powers, said Markin.
