Suspect of killing head of rural administration held in Kaluga Region

The Kaluga Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee carry on investigating a criminal case into a murder of head of administration of rural settlement the village of Silkovo, Peremyshlsky district, Nadezhda Gavrilicheva.

On 20 August 2013, about 9 AM, Nadezhda Gavrilicheva riding a scooter to work on the road in the village of Verkhniye Podgorichi, Peremyshlsky district. There was a clap, after which the scooter went a little more and then fell together with the woman. The gun wound found in the woman’s body was fatal. A criminal case was opened into signs of a crime under part 1 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder).

The resident of the village of Verkhniye Podgorichi, Vladimir Chudakov, 42 was held on suspicions of the crime. According to the man, that morning he was adjusting his rifle and aimed at a crow. When he saw how after his shot the woman fell from her scooter, he got frightened and ran away. This way the suspect believes that he caused death to Nadezhda Gavrilicheva by recklessness. However, investigators has critical attitude to this version and at present are gathering and analyzing evidence. The suspect has 9 previous police records and in total has spent 21 years in prison. Pretrial restraint will be decided on in the near future.
