Investigation finished against former staffer of Saint-Petersburg office of Russian Registration Service charged with fraud

Saint-Petersburg Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s investigative Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against former chief specialist-expert of finance and economic department of Saint-Petersburg office of the Russian Federal Service of State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography Viola Glukharyova. She is charged with a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (swindling).

According to investigators, in the period between May and December 2012 Glukharyova illegally changed recipient’s details in applications to return payments excessively (mistakenly) transferred to the federal budget, stating instead the name and bank details of legal and physical person bank accounts of her sister’s husband. She sent those applications to Saint-Petersburg office of Federal Treasury. Based on the applications, the Treasury made 65 payments of a total of over 19 million rubles, no less than 9 million of which Glukharyova misappropriated and the rest was blocked by Sberbank of Russia.

Investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore the criminal case has been forwarded for the indictment to be approved and further into court to be tried on the merits.
