In connection with multiple publications and commentaries by representatives of bodies of internal affairs in media relating to criminal proceedings over crimes committed by senior officials of holding company Oboronservis and a number of commercial structures connected with the activities of the Russia’s ministry of Defense, the Investigative Committee explains that the above mentioned criminal cases are in proceedings of the Central Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.

The role of the police in these cases is limited to implementation of several operational instructions of investigators. This is why official and that is true information relating to the cases can come only from an investigating body in whose proceedings the cases are. All other information is incorrect, unreliable and is estimated by the Investigative Committee as inappropriate PR actions preventing objective investigation and finding the truth. The Investigative Committee therefore warns against spreading the information not agreed with the investigation. Moreover, taking into account wide public response, the Investigative Committee intends to operatively inform the public on the progress of the inquiry, but within the laws and in amount that does not contradict interests of the investigation.
