In Moscow Region the suspect in attempted murder and robbery of Deputy Head of Stupino investigations department placed under arrest

The Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over a crime under part 3 of article 30, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105, paragraph “c” of part 4 of article 162 of the RF Criminal Code (attempted murder, robbery).

On 28 August 2012, about 5 o’clock, 50 meters away from the house No. 23 in Tchaikovsky Street of the town of Stupino, Moscow Region, a detail of Patrol and Point Duty service found Svetlana Kochukova, Deputy Head of Stupino investigations department of the Moscow Region Central Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee with numerous injuries and unconscious.

According to investigators, on 28 August 2012, about 00:35 she left the building of the investigations department and on foot set off to her place of residence.

During the search and investigation operations, a 44-year-old citizen of Ukraine Alexander Onishkevich living in the town of Stupino, Moscow Region, was held on suspicions in the crime.

During interrogation the suspect pleaded guilty and gave detailed testimonies. He pointed out that at night of 28 August 2012 he met a woman he hadn’t met before and attacked her in attempt to rob her. Then he gave detailed information on how he was following his victim, how he was beating her and named the things he had stolen from her. In his presence the testimonies were checked on the spot and his flat was searched.

Court under the petition of the investigators has ruled to place the suspect into custody as a pretrial restraining measure. At present search and investigating operations are underway to check involvement of the suspect into a number of other similar crimes. Investigation is to be continued.
