Moscow investigators detained and charged organizer and one of the members of inter-regional criminal group involved in more than 40 serious and especially serious crimes

Moscow Central Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case against members of a stable armed group, who in the period between 1999 and 2011 committed more than 40 serious and especially serious crimes in Moscow, Moscow Region, Rostov and Chelyabinsk Regions and the Krasnodar Territory.

During the search and investigating operations in the town of Miass of Chelyabinsk Region one of the organizers of the stable armed group Sergey Chashchin was found and detained. Ralif Faizov one of the members of the said group was also detained there.

According to investigators, Chashchin was involved in creation of the group and murders in Miass of Chelyabinsk Region, including those he committed together with Faizov, of businessman Gavrilov in 2001, attempted murder of businessman Imerov in 2002 and murder of Paduchin in 2005. In addition Faizov, who is a member of the stable armed group is charged with an attempted murder of businessman Krivenkov in Rostov-on-Don and murder of the latter together with his bodyguard Porokhnya in Moscow in 2006.

Chashchin and Faizov are charged with crimes under part 1 of article 209 (creation of a stable armed group with the aim of assaulting individuals or organizations, and also operation of such a group) and part 2 of article 209 of the RF Criminal Code (participation in a stable armed group or in its assaults).

We remind that one of the leaders of this inter-regional criminal group was Dmitry Lesnyakov, who in 2012 was sentenced to 25 years in prison by Moscow city court.
