The Tatarstan Republic investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have filed a petition to limit the time of reading the materials of the case till 31 December 2012 for employee of the Federal Service for Transport Supervision Irek Timergazeyev prosecuted for the wreck of Bulgaria cruise ship.

We remind that there are 5 people prosecuted in this case. This is captain’s mate Ramil Khametov, sublessee of the Bulgaria Inyakina, expert of Russian River Register Yakov Ivashov and two employees of Federal Service for Transport Supervision Vladislav Semyonov and Irek Timergazeyev. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with crimes under articles 238, 263, 143, 285, of the RF Criminal Code (rendering services which do not meet standards of safety to lives or health of consumers, violation of rules for operating inner water transport, violation of labor protection rules and abuse of official powers).

According to investigators cumulative actions of the accused caused the Bulgaria cruise ship to sink on 10 July 2011 in Kuybyshevsky reservoir killing 122 people aboard the vessel.

At present the accused, except for Timergazeyev, have finished reading the files of the criminal case. Out of 99 volumes of the case Timergazeyev have read only 51 over 5.5 months. Investigators believe that he is delaying the investigation.
