Investigators looking into explosion near mosque in Kabardino-Balkaria

A powerful explosion rocked at 3 AM in the village of Dugulubgey, Baksansky district in the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria within 1 meter of the entrance to a cemetery and near a mosque. The explosion made a crater 3-meter wide and about 1-meter deep. Fragments of bodies of assumingly two people were found at the scene. No other casualties have been reported so far.

A lot of ammunitions have been found at the scene – a submachine gun, two pistols, grenades, cartridges. The power of the bomb equaled over a kilo of TNT. The preliminary version of the cause of explosion is self-exploding.

At the moment the investigators are examining the scene. Necessary operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the explosion.
