Charges brought against officials of Moscow customs of Central Customs Office of Russian Customs Service

Moscow Inter-Regional Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has charged deputy head of Moscow railway customs post of Moscow customs Alexander Skoryatin and head of the department for customs registration and control of the same post Marina Chemeza with the crime under paragraphs “a” and “c” of part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (bribery by a group of people in preliminary conspiracy on a massive scale).

According to investigators, the abovementioned officials on 11 July 2013 received from the head of the department for customs registration of OOO Transport Development Group Dmitry Zavgorodny a bribe of over 470 thousand rubles, which represents a massive scale. For that the officials promised to make positive decisions on the claimed customs value and to speed up customs registration of the goods and others. On 28 October 2013, Skoryatin and Chemeza were detained. Skoryatin was remanded in custody, Chemeza put under a house arrest.

It should be noted that Dmitry Zavgorodny, 41 is charged with the crime under paragraph “b” of part 4 of article 291 of the RF Penal Code (giving a bribe), and is under a house arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
