Progress of investigation in mass riots on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow

Central Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over organization of, participation in and calls for mass disorders and use of violence against representatives of the authority on 6 May 2012 on Bolotnaya Ploshchad in Moscow. As it was reported earlier, there are 16 people under investigation. And today investigators have severed a criminal case against 12 accused due to completion of collecting evidence proving their guilt. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 212 (participation in mass riots), part 1 of article 318 (use of violence against representatives of the authority) and part 3 of article 212 of the RF Criminal Code (calls to active insubordination of the lawful requirements of the representatives of the authorities, and to mass riots). Today the accused and their lawyers will be notified on completion of investigating operations.

But search and investigating operations to establish other participants of mass riots and use of violence against representatives of the authorities will be actively continued.
