The Central Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against Leonid Razvozzhayev. He is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 322 of the RF Criminal Code (illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation).

According to investigators, on 15 October 2012, Razvozzhayev knowing about the check carried out in connection with a documentary Anatomy of a Protest – 2 and recognizing that the result of the check could be criminal proceedings, decided to escape responsibility and disappeared from the investigating bodies. To deceive the law enforcement, Razvozzhayev purchased a train ticket to Kiev, Ukraine, using his brother’s passport and crossed the state border of the Russian Federation without valid documents giving right to leave the country.

Due to the fact that this category of criminal cases does not belong to jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee, the Committee has filed a motion to the Prosecutor General’s Office to charge the Investigative Committee with investigation of this case.
