Investigators of Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee filed a motion to extend the term of arrest for the accused of murdering Eduard Chuvashov, judge of Moscow city court

Investigators of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have filed a motion to extend the term of arrest until 16 March 2013 to Maksim Baklagin and Vyacheslav Isayev charged with encroachment on life of judge of Moscow city court of law Eduard Chuvashov. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under paragraphs “a”, “g” and “k” of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 222 (3 episodes), article 295, article 317 of the RF Criminal Code (murder and attempted murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group on the motives of ideological and national hatred, illegal handling of firearms, encroachment on a life of a person conducting justice or preliminary investigation, encroachment on a life of a law enforcement officer).

The investigators believe that Baklagin and Isayev hold to right radical views, since 2008 they have participated in activity of a number of disguised armed groups. According to investigators, Baklagin, Isayev together with Aleksey Korshunov (died in 2011) and other persons members to the organized armed group on 12 April 2010 killed federal judge Eduard Chuvashov in connection with his professional activity connected with considering criminal cases over crimes committed out of national motives.

During investigation of this case investigators have collected evidence based on which Baklagin and Isayev were also charged with murders of “antifascists” I. Khutorskoy and I Dzhaparidze and murder of Thai boxing world champion M. Abdullyev, murder of S. Khachikyan, attempted murder of R. Nurichuyev and encroachment on life of senior district operative agent of the Moscow Gilyanovo district Department of Internal Affairs B. Benyaminyan. In addition they are charged with illegal acquisition, storage, bearing and transportation of firearms, its basic parts and ammunition committed by an organized group.

At present investigators are carrying on collecting and consolidating evidence and check involvement of members of the organized group in other crimes.
