A man charged with killing five people including three children convicted in Tula Region

Court has recognized the evidence collected by Tula Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict Ivan Ivanchtnko, 20, Tula. He was found guilty of crimes under paragraphs “a”, “c” and “j” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (murder of two or more persons, murder of a person in knowingly helpless state committed with the purpose to conceal another crime) and paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 158 (stealing with the infliction of considerable damage to a person).

Investigation and court have found that on 25 July 2011 at night Ivanchenko was at his female friend’s on Kutuzov Street in Tula. They got quarreled and he hit her with a hammer on her head and heck and the woman died on the spot. With the purpose of concealing this crime he killed with the same hammer her sleeping children – three boys aged 9, 6 and 5 and the woman’s mother. Having made sure that all of them were dead, in order to conceal the crime traces the accused piled the bodies in the bathroom and took out the murder weapon – the hammer and other objects with traces of blood. After the murder Ivanchenko stole from the flat property worth over 30,000 rubles and disposed of it in his own interests.

During the investigation Ivanchenko was examined in V.P. Serbsky State Scientific Center of Social and Forensic Psychiatry and was admitted sane.

Investigators have conducted a lot of investigating operations. Final evidence proving guilt of the accused was obtained as result of questioning of witnesses, examinations of the crime scene, searches, seizures, expert examinations including handwriting and DNA examinations.

The court sentenced Ivanchenko to life in jail.
