Senior officials and staff of divisions of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee, Main Military Investigations Directorate, Moscow and Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorates, Moscow Inter-Regional Transport Investigations Directorate, Advanced Training Institute, veterans of Great Patriotic War and investigating bodies, cadets of Alexander Navsky Cadet School of the Investigation Committee, families of the staff killed in the line of duty and guests were present at the celebration of the second anniversary of the Russia’s Investigative Committee.
In his speech Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin stressed that at present time the Investigative Committee was an independent structure in the system of state bodies, subordinate only to the head of state – President of the Russian Federation and acting only within the law.
Speaking about results of the Committee Mr. Bastrykin said that over the past two years investigators of the Investigative Committee reviewed around 2 million messages about crimes and initiated 234 thousand criminal cases. More than 370 thousand criminal cases were under proceedings and 168 thousand criminal cases were sent to courts.
“I am sure that professionalism and responsible attitude to the job help us consolidating our authority. Social moods, wellbeing, life and health of our citizens depend on how well we do our job”, - concluded Mr. Bastrykin.
During the event distinguished employees of the Investigative Committee were awarded state and departmental awards and valuable gifts.
In addition there was an awarding ceremony for the winners of the contest for the best coverage of activity of the Investigative Committee in media. The winners are journalists of federal and regional media.
In TV area the follosing are awarded: actress Yelena Morozova for playing an investigator in the TV series Investigative Committee on NTV channel; correspondent of Novosti news program of Pervy TV channel Timur Siraziyev; correspondent of the TV program “The man and the law” of the Pervy TV channel Yelena Shilina; crews of programs Vesty. Dezhurnaya Chast and Chastny Detectiv of Rossia 1 TV channel.
