On 5 January 2014 the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) received a report by a man from Yakutsk that his wife left home with their 3-month-old baby and nobody knew their whereabouts. Investigators launched pre-investigating check.

It has been preliminarily found that in the evening of 6 January 2014 the appellant’s wife came back home. The baby was with her, but did not show signs of life. The medics certified the baby dead. During examination they found no signs of violence on the baby’s body.

At present investigators are taking measures to find all the circumstances of the incident and causes of the baby’s death. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
