Kirghiz citizen suspected of extortion and kidnapping of his co-national detained in Moscow

Moscow Main Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s investigative Committee has launched criminal proceedings against a 26-year-old unemployed Kirghiz citizen over the signs of crimes under article 126 of the RF Penal Code (abduction) and article 163 (extortion).

According to investigators on 17 January 2014, on the Shosse Entuziastov near house No 31, the suspect and his unidentified accomplice attacked the man, forced him into the car and took to Izmaylovo district. They demanded from the victim’s brother 150 thousand rubles to release the man. On 18 January police officers released the 35-year-old victim, who worked on a construction site in Moscow.

The suspect was detained and confessed to the crime. In the near future investigators are going to request the court to place the man in custody pending the trial. Investigation is ongoing.
