Alexander Bastrykin held personal reception of citizens in Yaroslavl

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee held a personal reception of citizens in Yaroslavl on 22 January. 38 citizens of Yaroslavl and the Yaroslavl Region addressed the Chairman. During the reception which took until 10 p.m., Alexander Bastrykin personally received 20 people, 18 more were received by officials of the Central Office.

The most of complaints addressed to Mr. Bastrykin during the personal reception concerned illegal actions of the police, procedural decisions made over criminal cases in proceedings at the investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee. In addition deceived shareholders came with applications. Some people complained about refusals to launch criminal cases. Namely, a woman from Yaroslavl addressed Mr. Bastrykin asking to investigate the causes of her relative’s death. The Chairman ordered to cancel the decision to refuse to launch a criminal case and undertake careful probe into the man’s death.

Based on the results of the personal reception Mr. Bastrykin gave explicit orders to heads of a number of territorial investigating bodies. Progress of reviewing all accepted complaints and application is under personal control of the Chairman.
