Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over a terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport committed on 24 January 2011.
We remind that search and investigation operations have established in total, 28 members of the criminal community Imarat Kavkaz, involved in organization and implementation of the terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport. On 28 March 2011, during a special operation in the Republic of Ingushetia 17 members of the gang were killed.
At present the leader of the terrorist organization Imarat Kavkaz and the main organizer of the terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport Doku Umarov, his right hand Alsan Byutukayev and Rustam Altemirov, Zaurbek Amriyev, Mikail Bogatyryov, Islam Yevloyev and Ibragim Torshkhoyev are internationally wanted. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged in absentia with crimes under part 2 of article 210 of the RF Criminal Code (membership in a criminal community (criminal organization), part 1 of article 209 (creation of a stable armed group (gang) to attack citizens), paragraph “b” of part 3 of article 205 (a terrorist attack). The court ruled in absentia to put them into custody as a pretrial restraining measure.
Investigators are checking information that the accused Altemirov and Amriyev were killed in Istanbul on 16 September 2011. A DNA expert examination is underway to identify the killed through their DNAs received from Turkish investigating bodies.
All necessary investigating and search operations are underway to establish whereabouts of the persons involved in the crime. A number of expert examinations are also underway, including a complex psychological, religious science and linguistic.
Besides, the court is already hearing the case against four members of the organized criminal community – brothers Islam and Ilez Yandiyevs, Akhmed Yevloyev and Bashir Khamkhoyev involved in the terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport.
