Criminal proceedings launched over armed resistance of one of the suspects in the murder of Chancellor of Kabardino-Balkarian State Agricultural Academy

The North Caucasian Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over a murder of Chancellor of Kabardino-Balkarian State Agricultural Academy Boris Zherukov, committed on 25 December 2012.

As it was reported earlier, on 25 December 2012, around 11 a.m., in Nalchik two unknown persons entered the office of Boris Zherukov, Chancellor of V.M. Kokov Kabardino-Balkaria State Agricultural Academy and shot him dead in head from 9 mm guns. The man died on the spot. Zherukov was also Head of faction United Russia in the parliament of Kabardino-Balkaria. During primary investigating and search operations the suspects were identified.

On 20 January 2013, agents of the Interior Ministry of kabardino-Balkaria found whereabouts of one of the suspects in Kalmykova Street, Nalchik. It was Asadulagi Mir-Zurab Mir-Rashidovich, born in 1983. He offered armed resistance and was killed during the operation.

It is known that earlier Asadulagi, being from the town of Nartkaly in kabardino-Balkaria joined members of an illegal armed group and left home.

Investigating bodies of the Kabardino Balkar Republic of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal case over armed resistance offered by Asadulagi during detention, over signs of crimes under article 317 of the RF Criminal Code (encroachment on a life of a law enforcement agent) and part 1 of article 222 (illegal handling of firearms). Investigation is to be continued.
