Procedural check launched over threats by Murad Musayev to a witness in case of Yuri Budanov

Moscow main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a pre-investigating check over part 2 of article 309 of the RF Criminal Code in connection with the allegation made by Alexander Yevtukhov – a witness in the criminal case over murder of Yuri Budanov – that he considers Murad Musayev’s statements as threats.

On 21 January Alexander Yevtukhov wrote a claim addressed to judge of Moscow city court, stating that during a break during the process the lawyer Musayev came up to him and said that he should give the testimonies they had agreed upon before, for which he had been paid 100 thousand rubles, and that “they know where he is”. Yevtukhov considered these words as threats to him and his family.

Investigators have already questioned Yevtukhov, who confirmed the contents of his conversation of Musayev listed in his claim. Now they are going to question the Lawyer Musayev and undertake other necessary check measures to take a procedural decision based on the results of the check.

In addition, Musayev’s actions will be qualified as part of investigation against the lawyer Darya Trenina suspected of giving a bribe to a witness for giving false evidence in court over the criminal case over murder of Yuri Budanov (article 309 of the RF Criminal Code).
