Thanks to professional work of investigators of the Russia’s Investigative Committee evidence got proving involvement of the detained man in murder of Vasilisa Galitsyna

The Tatarstan Republic investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over the disappearance on 2 February 2013 in Naberezhnye Chelny of 8-year-old Vasilisa Galitsyna (paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code – murder of a child).

The girl’s schoolbag, hat, elements of clothes, school diary and books were found in the evening of 3 February 2013 in Naberezhnye Chelny not far from her school.

Investigators have found that the fingerprints found on the girl’s things belonged to the suspect. They have also found witnesses who identified the suspect saying that they had seen him with the girl three days ago. During the investigating operations the car of the suspect has been found and examined. Investigators believe that it was this car the suspect could have used to take away the victim. Several blond female hairs have been found during the examination of the car, they are sent to experts.

During the questioning the investigator has managed to set up a psychological contact with the suspect, thanks to which he gave details of the crime he had committed. The investigator checked the testimony and the suspect showed the place where he had hidden the girl’s body.

As a result of efficiently planned search and investigating operations the body of 8-year-old Vasilisa Galitsyna was found 73 km away from the town of Naberezhye Chelny in Zainsky district on the side of a road. There are numerous bruises, a knife wound under the shoulder-blade and traces of sexual abuse on the girl’s body.

Investigators in the near future are going to file a motion into court requesting to put the suspect into custody. Forensic examinations are being run and investigating operations are underway to collect and consolidate the evidence.
