A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Perm Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict a 52-year-old resident of Perm. he was found guilty of a crime under part 1 of article 116 of the RF Penal Code (battery causing physical pain).

The court and investigators have found that in the morning of 21 February 2013 the defendant, who was the head of anesthesiology and resuscitation department at the Federal Center of Cardio Vascular Surgery of the RF Ministry of Health (Perm) was making a round, when he came in a ward in his department to examine a patient. During the examination the patient offended the defendant with obscene language. During the conflict the doctor intentionally hit the patient on his head and chest without harming him.

The court sentenced him to 5 months of community work and banned him from medical activity for 2 years.
