The Rostov Region investigating bodies of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have finished investigating a criminal case against ex deputy economics head of Bataysk town administration Denis Korsunov charged with a crime under part 3 of article 30 and part 3 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (attempted fraud).

According to investigators the accused intending to steal money by deceit used his official position and demanded from a businessman 600 thousand rubles for assisting in allocating a piece of land 6 ha in area in Bataysk for locating businessman’s manufacturing entities there. But the official was not going to do anything in the businessman’s interests, neither did he have any authority to do that. The accused was detained by the agents of the Rostov Region Main Office of the Russian Interior Ministry at the moment when he was receiving the money. During the probe Korsunov pleaded guilty and filed a motion on special order trial.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
