Another man sentenced in attack on Head of Rostov Region Traffic Police Directorate

The court found evidence collected the Southern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation sufficient to convict Kurban Izudinov. He has been found guilty of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm, dangerous to human life, committed under contract by a group of persons by prior agreement (Paragraph "a" of Part 3 of article 111 of the RF Criminal Code).

Investigators and the court found that Timur Abdulayev drove Izudinov and the second attacker in his car to the residence of Head of the Rostov Region Traffic Police Directorate Sergey Morgachev in the city of Rostov-on-Don on March 25, 2014. There, Izudinov and his accomplice beat the victim, causing serious harm to his health. After beating, Abdulayev attackers carried the attackers in his car from the crime scene, and then threw out the clothes and shoes, which they had on. For these actions, Izudinov and Abdulayev received 100,000 rubles each from the organizer of the crime.

The court sentenced Izudinov to 7 years in a maximum security penal colony. Also, the court has sustained the civil claim of the victim in the amount of 1 million rubles.

Earlier, the court had sentenced Abdulayev to 4.5 years in a maximum security penal colony. In addition, criminal investigation is ongoing against four other participants in the crime, including the organizer Deputy Head of the Rostov Region Traffic Police Directorate Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandr Otsimik.
