Investigators looking into teenager’s injury in camp in Krasnoyarsk Territory

On 12 August 2014, regional investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee received files of a check into the incident in which a 13-year-old teenager suffered an eye injury. The Krasnoyarsk Region investigating bodies launched a pre-investigative check into the incident.

According to preliminary reports, on 16 June 2014, the teenager was in health camp Grenada. There was a foam party later in the evening. The teenager felt burning to his eyes and applied for medical help, which he received in the aid station. Next day the teenager was taken to an eye center, where doctors diagnosed him with a chemical burn to his eyes resulted from soap foam.

At present investigators are looking into all the circumstances of the incident. During the check they are going to give legal assessment to the actions of the officials of the Grenada camp and the sole proprietor in charge of the party. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
